The Immortal Arms ™ Improved Ram Swage (IIRS) solves a continuing problem with swaging, priming and reaming, variable case "floor" thickness between headstamps (and within the same headstamp). When setting up a backer die for swaging, priming or reaming, using a single case can result in inconsistent results when the pressure from the die rod is either too heavy or non-existent when a different case enters the station.
The IIRS is a modification of the Lee Ram Swage die. We have have changed the internal rod from static to variable using a calibrated spring. This allows the rod to apply consistent pressure for all cases.
The IIRS is all steel die with an integrated case guide nose, this insures that all cases are positively
centered before the rod enters. This isn't as important for pistol, but is critical when working with rifle brass, like 223 Remington, with its very small case mouth. What does it mean? No more crushed case necks.
The IIRS will work on all cases up to .55" in diameter (sorry 338 Lapua loaders, not for you), for example 30-06.
The IIRS works on all presses with 7/8”-14 threads. Each die comes with a Lee spline drive lock-ring and wrench.
We suggest the use of Ammobrass Swage Setters for setting up this die.
